Akansha Pandey | New DelhiThe Indian Travel Congress 2018, the annual convention of the Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI), will be organised in Srinagar, from March 27-29, 2018, revealed Sunil Kumar R, President, TAAI at the press meet in New Delhi recently. Zahoor Qari, Chairman, TAAI Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) Chapter will be the Chairman of the Convention Coordinating Committee.J&K will be the partner and host state for the convention expected to be attended by 500 delegates, considering the limited room inventory. TAAI, in support with Ministry of Tourism will also host foreign buyers and international media for the event.“Agents down south haven’t been to Kashmir and TAAI has taken the responsibility to bridge the gap. Thus it’s time to showcase the crown of India’s tourism which is J&K. The destination needs assistance from all trade partners in India and the largest body of travel trade – TAAI will leave no stone unturned to enhance its visibility and products globally. A pre-convention stopover is being planned at Vaishno Devi shrine and post tours will be taken to Gulmarg, Sonamarg and Pahalgam,” revealed Kumar.Qari also informed that a Golf tournament is also being worked out in support with Rajan Sehgal, Member, TAAI Managing Committee and President, India Golf Tourism Association (IGTA).We are here to welcome you into the fold of our family, said Sarmad Hafeez, Secretary Tourism, J&K inviting TAAI members to Srinagar for the upcoming convention. “I am sure that the warm hospitality of J&K will woo the convention delegates.
