Asus ZenFone Ares launched: Specs, price and everything you should know

first_imgAsus has launched a mid-range smartphone. It is the Asus ZenFone Ares. The smartphone comes with a lot of features similar to that of the ZenFone AR, which was launched in India last year. But interestingly, the new ZenFone Ares is way cheaper than the ZenFone AR, which sells for Rs 49,999. Asus has launched the ZenFone Ares for TWD 9,990 in Taiwan, which is roughly around Rs 22,700. For now, there are no details if the new Asus phone will come to India anytime soon or not. Possibly it may.As already mentioned above, the new Asus ZenFone Ares comes with some feature which we have seen in last year’s ZenFone AR. The smartphone comes packed with several augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) features. Surprisingly, now that most smartphone companies are launching phones with Android Oreo software, Asus chooses to launch ZenFone Ares with Android Nougat. This is disappointing. Also because it is a phone that costs Rs 22,700 approx. There’s no word if the phone will be upgraded to Android Oreo and then Android P or not.The Asus ZenFone Ares runs Android Nougat with ZenUI on top. It sports a 5.7-inch QHD Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1440×2560 pixels. The smartphone comes with an aspect ratio of 16:9 and not 18:9. The Asus ZenFone Ares smartphone sports a display panel that has a Tru2life technology. This feature will enable VR experiences for the users. It also comes with an oil-repellent coating. The smartphone comes with SonicMaster 3.0 Hi-Res Audio 384 kHz audio decoder and also comes with DTS Headphone with 7.1 channel support. On the hardware front, the smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chipset coupled with 8GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage that is expandable to 2TB via microSD card.advertisementOn the camera front, the smartphone comes with a 23-megapixel camera sensor on the back coupled with a f/2.0 aperture. The rear camera comes with Asus’ high-res PixelMaster 3.0 technology on top. The rear camera, as Asus claims is capable of capturing motion tracking and depth sensing. On the front, the smartphone comes with an 8-megapixel sensor with a f/2.0 aperture. The Asus phone comes with support for Bluetooth v4.2, USB Type-C, 3.5mm headphone jack, 4G LTE, and Wi-Fi 802.11ac.
